Wow, I think this is the longest I’ve gone without a new post. Things have been totally crazy and I just haven’t been able to get on. Brief update: Our dog, Chewy, went into labor two weeks ago, on the 10th. We thought she was just in the early stages of the labor, which we read could last a day or two. On Monday, she looked like she was getting ready to have the babies, and we were sure she would have them Monday night. However, when we woke up on Tuesday morning, there were still no pups, and we couldn’t feel them move. We took here into the vet, where they took an x-ray and found that she had 3 pups, but it looked like they were all dead. They preformed a c-section on her (and spayed her in the process), and to everyone’s surprise, one of the puppies survived! We were very excited about that. So, Chewy and the puppy came home that afternoon, and Chewy was completely out of it. Adam nursed the puppy and kept him alive. Adam had to stay home from work the rest of that week, because the pup required full time attention. He was so great with Chewy and the puppy! We also had to take Chewy back to the vet everyday for almost a week. She wasn’t doing well, and got a full body infection. Then she licked her stitches open, so now she has a cone on her head, which she really doesn’t like. The puppy is doing really well. Chewy pretty much abandoned him; I don’t think she even knows he’s her puppy. So, we are on round-the-clock puppy care. We have puppy formula and a syringe we use to feed him. He’s so tiny and cute! He’s grown a ton, though since he was born. Chewy gets her stitchs out and cone off on Wednesday, so hopefully she’ll be all back to normal then.
So, needless to say, it’s been very time consuming doing all of this.
