And Obama wants to pay for all 12-15 million illegals to have health care at our taxpayer expense!

We have to do something about this problem!  When are people in this country going to wake up and say enough is enough!?  This is just ridiculous.  Keep in mind this is only one hospital.  I’m sure it’s going on is hospitals all over the country.  I don’t think we should turn away emergency cases, however, this ongoing stuff is absurd.  Absolutely absurd!  Time to write to your representatives in Congress and the Senate and make them take a stand against illegal immigration!

Sean Hannity has posted on his website, his 10 Items for Victory.  I agree with most everything he said, but I’m curious to know what you all think about these 10 items.

I recently had the opportunity to write an article for our ward newsletter about the Fourth of July.  I really wanted to talk about how the Lord established this nation.  My friend Mike recently posted about The Constitution, and I used some of the quotes he had in his because they were so good.  Anyway, here’s what I wrote.

232 years ago, our forefathers were in a battle that would forever change this world.  Indeed, this battle had been foretold long before by Nephi who in vision saw what would transpire.  (more…)

Congress is taking up the issue of the Fairness Doctrine again.  This would be a HUGE violation of the First Amendment.  While on Mark Levin’s site today, I came across this group that is working against the Fairness Doctrine, and they have a list of those who support it and those who are opposed to it, and those that act like hypocrites saying they are opposed to it, but won’t act against it.  Happily, I say NV Representatives Jon Porter and Dean Heller on the list of those that oppose the Fairness Doctrine and act accordingly.  And, of course, Shelley Berkley was on the list of those that want the Fairness Doctrine reinstated.  So, since I’m in her congressional district, I decided to pop off a little e-mail to her.  I thought I’d share it here.

I am writing today to express my extreme dissatisfaction in your stance on the fairness doctrine!  There is no reason why you should be able to determine what I am able to listen to on the radio.  I am fully capable of deciding what I want to hear.  Reinstating the fairness doctrine would be one of the biggest violations of the First Amendment I have heard of.  I can only conclude that the only reason that you would support such an unconstitutional measure is that you are too afraid of what your opposition may say.  While I do not agree with liberal agenda, I do believe that those who do have every right to express that belief on outlets such as MSNBC and Air America.  Likewise, I have every right to have my views expressed on conservative talk radio and Fox News.  If you are so sure that your liberal agenda is right for this country, why are you so afraid of other views being expressed?  Your actions in this matter show me that you truly are working toward a Socialist America.  Should you all get your way, it will be a sad future for my wonderful children!

This is just one of the “little” ways that the Left is trying to take over this country.  They are just trying to silence the opposition, that way they look better and it will be easier for them to Socialize this country.  This is a Communist/Marxist tactic and every American should be disgusted!

Support Jon Porter and Dean Heller in their re-election campaigns!

C.S. Lewis was a brilliant man!  Besides being known for the Chronicles of Narnia, he had invaluable insights into humanity.  Here’s an amazing quote I came across on Mark Levin’s site today.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

I’ve been promising a friend of mine for a while now that I would post something about this, so I’m finally getting to it.

Let me start with some background.  Earlier this year, Senator Harry Reid (in all his glory), stuck his foot in his mouth once again, when he blamed President Bush for not having enough bathrooms for tourists in the Capitol Building.  He said that the congressmen always joke that they know when it is tourist season because of the smell (yes, saying that the tourists stink).  Apparently the toursts congregate in the building while waiting for bathrooms, and all the people in there cause an unpleasant smell.  So, he then blamed President Bush for not having enough bathrooms for all the tourists, and essentially saying that it was President Bush’s fault for the tourists being stinky.   Now, as one of our great local radio talk show hosts, Casey Hendrickson, pointed out, the President isn’t even allowed at the Capitol (that whole separation of powers thing).  And since Congress is the body that does all the fund appropriating, why do they not appropriate themselves some more bathrooms?

So, anyway, this got me thinking about all the different things President Bush has been blamed for.  A few of my favorites include:

  • Tourists stinking.  (See above)
  • It was Bush’s fault when all that spinach was making people sick with e.coli.  (If he would have had better or more agriculture inspectors, that wouldn’t have happened.)
  • Global warming.  (If he had signed the Kyoto Protocol…)
  • Hurricane Katrina.  (Global warming caused Hurricane Katrina.  See above)

The list could go on and on.  Anyway, in thinking about all this, I realized that the Left in this country is giving President Bush all kinds of power, by blaming him for this.  I mean, just looking at my short little list, here’s what the President can do:  make people stink, make people sick, warm up the earth, cause hurricanes.  I mean, what kind of power is that?  And here I was thinking he was just a man, but according to all the liberals, he must be really really powerful.  Dare I say, even magical!  He must have extraordinary abilities!  I mean, this is the only thing that could explain it.  And, since everyone knows Dick Chaney is really controlling Bush, he must be even more powerful!  Maybe they are some sort of wizards or something, and they spend their time together ploting and scheming.

Of course any reasonable person knows that these things are not Bush’s fault; he just happened to be President at the time these things occurred.  But, sometimes it’s fun to try to figure out what the liberals could possibly be thinking.  It’s the only explanation that makes since with their line of thinking.

Literally, like 5 minutes after I finished my last post, Leia had her first puppy!  She has since had all six!  Yup, six pups!  They are just adorable and precious.  And, mom and babies seem to be doing well.  She had 3 boys and 3 girls; 2 brown/red and 4 black.  Here’s some cute pictures!  8 Jun 2008     8 Jun 2008

It’s been a while since I posted.  It’s not that I don’t have anything to say; I’ve just been very busy.  Of course, I have some commentary on recent political activity, but that will wait for another time.

So, one of our dogs, Leia, is pregnant, ready to pop at any moment.  She’s going to be a great mom; definitely has the disposition for it.  So, we’ve been on labor watch for the last several days.  I took her into the vet on Thursday, and they did an x-ray to make sure everything was ok.  Everything looked good, and to my utter surprise, she has six little pups inside her belly!  WOW!  I seriously thought there were two or three.  We haven’t told the kids how many, just in case they don’t all make it.  But, I have had them guessing.  So far, Gavin and Genevie both said seven, Logan guessed four then changed it to six, and Daphne says two.  It’s been fun to watch them be so excited.  I think I’ve been more anxious about this than Leia has.  I keep thinking she’s going to have the babies, but then she doesn’t.  She’s showing all the signs.  But, the vet said today that she could start doing that up to 72 hours ahead of time.  Hopefully, though, it will be soon, and everything will go well.

Also, I’ve been covering my front yard with rocks, since we just couldn’t keep the grass alive.  Well, I decided yesterday that I probably wasn’t going to be able to work on it much after the pups are born.  So, I called two of my friends and they came over and we pretty much finished it.  Hooray!  Now, we don’t look like our house is going into foreclosure.  It is really plain right now, but it looks much better.  I think we’ll add some more plants and color once the temperature goes down again.  I have to say, I’m truly grateful for such wonderful friends!
