I recently heard a song on the radio that made me stop, and reflect, and smile. In a world so filled with anger and bitterness and anti-religious sentiments, I found this a welcome refuge from the storm. I Saw God Today, by George Straight, is a song about a man who stops to notice all the amazing things around him, and realizes that what he is really seeing is the work of God. It was beautiful.
After listening to that, I began to reflect. Truly, everywhere we look, we can see the wondrous works of the Lord. Indeed, all things testify that there is a God. It is so comforting to know that we have a loving Father in Heaven, and His Son, Jesus Christ, who created this earth. When I really stop to think about it, and observe the little things, my testimony grows.

When is it right to take a risk?

Adam approached me tonight about buying an investment property. On the surface it’s a great idea. The only problem is that we would have to pull out all of the equity in our home, plus a little more. That thought just makes me a little uneasy. If it doesn’t work out, we’re messing with our home. However, as Adam put it, sometimes “you have to take risks.” But, the question is, when is the right time to do so? This is a question we’ll have to take to the Lord. If we get the go ahead, we may be renting out a property in short order. Will keep you posted.

Trust the Lord

I’ve recently been reminded of the necessity of trusting the Lord. This is something that I have been actively working on doing for the last several months. I’ve found, however, that it can be very difficult to trust and do the will of the Lord. We often think that we know better, and we can make better decisions about our lives than the Lord can. This is really very foolish, but we’ve all fallen into this mistake. For me, the issue is about relinquishing control, something very hard for me to do. However, over time, I have discovered that when I set aside my pride, and seek to do the will of Heavenly Father, my life is much better, and there is more peace at home. Deciding to trust in and do the will of the Lord wasn’t easy, and sometimes it’s a daily struggle for me. However, I’ve discovered how wonderful it is to truly let the Lord take control of my life. Because really, He loves us all and knows what is best for us!
